America Under God’s Judgment

I believe there are three reasons why God’s patience may be running out with America and why we fdd63037e836105a5a83d720c9924b7amay already be under His judgment.

  1. We have willingly, gladly, intentionally, and systematically destroyed the lives of millions of unborn babies in the United States. And we no longer even look at this as an issue of right and wrong, it has become a political argument. It’s called a woman’s right to choose. But most of these abortions had nothing to do with the medical reasons, instead they were for the convenience of the mother/father and as a means of birth control.
  2. As a nation we mock and defy God. We have kicked God out of our culture – our public life. We have decided that we know better than God what is best for our nation, our families, our communities, our schools, entertainment, and our businesses.
  3. We have all but abandoned Israel. Let me say this plainly, to stand against Israel is to stand against God. Period. You do so at your own peril. God told Abraham in Genesis 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse…”

I know that any group of people – any nation – can be guilty of these things I’ve just listed. But other nations were not founded as ours was. The United States of America was founded on faith in God and dedicated to His glory by our first President, George Washington, and the Continental Congress, at their first meeting on September 5, 1774.

We are a broken nation, but we are not without hope. The good news is that nothing is broken that can’t be fixed. The question is how do we fix it? How do turn things around?

This Sunday at Rocky River Church I’ll be talking about what it will take to heal our nation.  I hope you’ll join us at 8:30, 9:45 or 11:15.

God bless you.  And may God bless America again.
