I am feeling good this morning…
• Last night my All-Star team got beat by the same darn team for the third time in 10 days. I’m getting tired of that but I love my little team. We’re having a really good time together and we’re going to win some ballgames this week. I feel good about our team.
• I gave the message to our students last night. This is M-PACT week for our Middle School and High School students. In addition to our kids, we have a group of students in from Morgan Baptist Church near Roanoke, VA. The students are doing missions projects all over our area. Each night they have a worship service with a theme. Last night’s message was about developing a passion for people. I can’t even begin to tell you how exciting it is to see our office full of students – it was really incredible. Travis (our Pastor to Students and Families) is doing an AWESOME job!
• I’m feeling good about our church. I say pretty good because it is the summer and so attendance is off and so are our offerings. That causes me to live hard and worry and stress and that kind of thing.
• I’m feeling good about our Simple series. People seem to be digging it. This Sunday I’m teaching on commandment #4 – “Remember the Sabbath to keep it holy.” I think it will be as helpful as it will be encouraging.
• I’m feeling good about my family. Things seem to be swinging our way a little. We have our growing pains and struggles like everyone else. But I have a great wife and kids and we love each other.
• I’m feeling good about our staff. We have an ALL-STAR staff and I love those guys. I’m just trying to learn how to do a better job leading them. I’m using the summer to get our systems in good shape.
• I’m feeling good about our building program. I thought we’d be building by now but we’re still on a good path I think to begin building sometime this year.
• I’m feeling good about the Panthers. Sure, there are the critics but I think we’ve got a tough, gritty team that is really going to be exciting this year.
• I’m feeling good about my family, our church, our future and life!

LIFE IS GOOD!
