THIS SUNDAY IS GOING TO BE HUGE!

This Sunday coming up is going to be HUGE. And it is going to be an historical day in the life of Rocky River Community Church. In preparation of this great event, there are a couple of things I would like to share with you so that you can get the most out of this day. Here you go… 1. Be there! This day will not be the same without you. No matter what your pledge or your offering; we need you in attendance this Sunday [November 19]. It will not be HUGE if you don’t attend. 2. Be early. Because we are only doing one service this Sunday [at 11:00AM] it is going to be a madhouse. Be early so we can start on time and you can get a good seat. 3. Be expectant. The music and the message are going to be awesome this weekend. God is going to do something great in the life of the church, but in your life as well. So expect God to move in your life. 4. Be generous. It is Thanksgiving Sunday at Rocky River. In my message, I am going to help us learn how to give thanks to God. A part of your thankfulness will include a financial gift and pledge to our building campaign. Demonstrate your thankfulness to God by giving to Him generously. 5. Be prepared. You should have already gotten your pledge card and envelope in the mail. Prepare it ahead of time so that you can just drop it into the offering basket at the appropriate time. 6. Be a player. We have always trusted in God to provide for our church. But here’s the thing. He works through people – YOU. He can only work through you if you decide to get in the game and participate in the offering and this day. 7. Be hopeful. Believe that God is going to do something miraculous this weekend. 8. Be committed. In our culture today, people are involved in many things but are committed to nothing. The church needs a generation of Christians today that will make its commitment to the Church is most important priority. The hope of the world is the local church. Commit to it by attending it, giving to it, serving and by bringing your networks of friends and family members to it. 9. Be intentional. Be intentional about bringing your unchurched friends and family members to Rocky River. In the next few weeks I am going to be writing an article on this topic. But let me just say for now that bringing your friends to church [where they can be exposed to the Gospel] is the thrust of what we do as Christians. 10. Be warm and friendly. This Sunday [and every Sunday] we will have new visitors and guests. Please go out of your way to make them feel warm and welcome to R2C2. If our church is anything at all, it must be friendly. More than ever people are looking for a place to belong. Thank you for helping us make R2C2 the kind of place that anyone would want to call home. God bless you. I can’t wait to see you on Sunday.
