Asking For Your Prayers

Hey Rocky River Church (and fans). I just wanted to ask you to please be in prayer for the church, me and our staff team this week. It is a really BIG week for us! Probably the biggest part of it is that our bids will be coming in from subcontractors and our General Contractor. By the end of this week we should be under contract with Choate Construction for our building project. And, we will have a closing date for our loan.

Anyway, please be in prayer for us and that God's will be done. HE is in control.

Thank you and I Love you guys! God's best!
Jimmy

I Would Appreciate Your Prayers And Hands

Hey all! Just wanted to ask for your prayers over the next few days. Today (Friday) we are having a memorial service for Glenda Sumerel. Sunday is Joe Bagley's memorial service. Of course we have two church services on Sunday. Next week we have to make so solid decisions on our building program; specifically, the size of the building which will determine costs, etc. Also, we will have to make some decisions very soon regarding contractors. There is the process of taking plans through the permitting. Just so much to be done.

BIG ASK: Some of you have expressed interests in the past to volunteer in the office, clean the office and do administrative tasks. If you're still interested, we'd love to hear from you. Could you please send an email to Donnie@rockyriverchurch.com? Donnie is out Pastor of Operations so he handles most things administrative. Again, we could use prayers and hands.

One more thing: We could use all hands on deck right now on Sunday mornings. We just need some folks willing to jump in and serve wherever needed. If you can help there, please email Travis@rockyriverchurch.com.

BTW, you can also call my assistant Teresa Porter at 980-622-0053 or email her at Teresa@rockyriverchurch.com.

Thanks!!!
Jimmy

Monday Morning Mind Dump

- Yesterday was a great day at Rocky River Church. The Spirit was definitely in the "house."

- I felt great about the sermon. When you're back is against the wall, you.... 1. Seek God, 2. Pray, 3. Focus on God (not the problem), 4. Get a Tribe, and 5. Sing! That'll preach right there!!

- Setup and breakdown went great! WOW! Our guys and gals who volunteer do a fantastic job!

- A ton of kids and students!

- Our people are really pumped up about next Sunday's Thanksgiving Dinner Fellowship. Our church really needs it right now. It's gonna be great!

- Will and Amber did a phenomenal job leading worship yesterday! WOW! The band is really coming together. I was so proud of those guys yesterday. Here's a shout out to Brian Straight. He's in our student ministry and played on stage yesterday. Thank kid has a wild-man living in his fingers!! :)

- The crowd was great yesterday for both services. I'm excited to see what it will be like this coming Sunday. :)

- Tithes were great. Thank God for that....!

- Travis did a good job with the Connection Card and talking about it from the stage. That card is really important!

- I'm really looking forward to December and the Christmas season. Our Christmas series kicks off on December 6. The series is called "Light." We're going to explore the TRUE meaning of Christmas. Jesus came to bring a light in our dark world. He brought us purification, redemption, and THE reason for celebration.

- Please remember to pray for Glenda Sumerel. She's still in the ICU at CMC. Also, Monty and Lee Pridgon are having their baby this morning. PRAY!

- I'm reminding myself this morning that investing in people's lives is like investing in the Stock Market. There are ups and downs but you invest for the long term, not the short term. BUT, people are NOT stocks to be manipulated and traded. Some stocks are winners and some are losers. But every person is a winner in the right environment and when they are living out their God-given purpose.

That's all I've got this morning. Had to get it out so I can move on with the day....

The End of Times

As you probably know we're in a sermon series at Rocky River Church called "Supernatural." So far the series has been great (at least I think so). Well, this Sunday I'm really going to turn things up a notch (or two). I'm preaching a sermon called "The End of Times." WHY? Because people want to know! People are looking around and asking if the time is right for God to bring this world to an end. I'm asked about it constantly. If you have it on your mind, and want some straight up, Biblical answers about how this world will wrap up (and if that time is near) then make plans right now to be at Rocky River Church this Sunday. We'll have a seat for ya!

Sunday Stuff

Great day today at Rocky River Church! We baptized two people today and it was awesome! All I really want to say is that I'm so blessed to lead the people at Rocky River Church. I feel so fortunate. I'm excited about the week coming. There is much to do. Your prayers and support are appreciated!

Random Thoughts On A Monday Morning

Really random stuff...

- I have a busy week! MAN! This week is seriously gonna be crazy!

- Today is going to start with a "get ahead of things" meeting with Donnie and Travis.

- I am having lunch today with Jason Hatley (www.worshipleaderinsights). Jason was our original worship leader at Rocky River Church. Then Nelson Searcy (www.nelsonsearcy.com) stole him from me and I've been bitter ever since. :)

- I am thinking through hiring a part-time secretary/assistant in the office. It would be a part time job, I think. About 15 hours a week.

- Father's Day weekend coming up. Excited about that!

- I'm really sick of adults not acting like adults. Don't you get tired of drama?! It's funny to me to hear some folks talk about drama when they are drama kings and queens. Get a clue!

- Sometimes we're so busy working for God that we don't have time to spend with Him.

- Do you have the heart of God in you?

- I'm really proud of our volunteers at Rocky River Church. AND, I'm really proud of those who stayed after the 11AM service to help us pack up. We haven't been out of the school that quickly after the last service in a long time. THANKS!

- Do you wonder how we make big decisions at Rocky River Church? We pray about it. When God speaks, we do that.

- I'm ready to go somewhere - anywhere!

- I believe God is preparing us for an explosion of growth and influence.

- Churches have got to start thinking more about lost people!
