VisionI CAN'T WAIT!Submitted by jimmybritt on Fri, 08/24/2007 - 3:39pm.I CAN'T WAIT FOR SUNDAY! SERIOUSLY! It is going to be awesome in our new school - Pitts School Road Elementary School. And let me say this: You don't want to be late - whether you attend the 9:30 or the 11:00 service - the band is going to come out swinging for the fence with the first song. It's just going to be an exciting day - historical event. This past week I took a few days to pray and plan for the next few weeks and months. I'm working on a series around Halloween that is going to be the funnest (is that the right way to say it? I'm terrible with grammar) series we've ever done. I'm going to talk about scary things in October like - Hell (is it real?), ghosts, and some other stuff too that people often ask me about. I'm taking four whole weeks to deal with these topics from the Bible. It's going to be a lot of fun. Anyway, just something to look forward to... Stuff @ Rocky RiverSubmitted by jimmybritt on Tue, 08/14/2007 - 11:59pm.Hey ya'll! Just wanted to give ya'll an update on what's going on at R2C2. Here's the bullet list. It's really amazing! -We are baptizing about 11 people this Sunday. THAT IS HUGE! If there was nothing else to say that would truly be enough… -This is our last Sunday at Rocky River Elementary School. We make our BIG transition to Pitts School Road Elementary on August 26. CAN HARDLY WAIT! -To date, we have purchased about $28,000 in new sound gear and equipment – badly needed upgrades. We’ll be spending about $4,000 more before it’s over with. -We have a graphic designed working on all new signs and banners for the school. You guys are going to freak out over the look of things and the ministry upgrades we’re making. -We had someone donate an equipment trailer to the church today! That’s right, I said they “donated” it! Those kinds of things happen when people have caught the vision of what we’re doing at R2C2. THANKS! Now we have a way to haul all of our near gear as well as the old gear. -Be on the lookout for a new venture coming your way called Rocky River Graphics. I’ll tell you more about that later… -On Wednesday we’ll be doing a “dry run” at Pitts to check out equipment and work through our new setup strategy. Very excited about that. -On September 16 we will kick off our first LifeTalk series in the new school. It’s called “Baggage” and I think it will be one of the most meaningful service series we’ve ever done at R2C2. -I am wanting to do an outdoor service and concert somewhere in uptown Concord where we serve free food, preach a message and then have a baptism all in one. What would that look like? Does anyone have the energy and vision to help plan something like that? -Did I mention that someone just gave us another trailer today! Dang! We have quite an arsenal now – three trailers! -OUR PEOPLE ARE OUR GREATEST ASSET AT ROCKY RIVER COMMUNITY CHURCH. I CAN’T TELL YOU HOW BIG OUR PEOPLE ARE STEPPING UP TO HELP MAKE THIS TRANSITION HAPPEN! THANK YOU GANG – SO MUCH – FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. THANK YOU! God is great! It will be great to have our office, land and meeting location within a few hundreds yards of each other. Our staff and leaders are very excited and the congregation is pumped too...! Pray for us as we make this HUGE transition. Thanks! More to come... Revolution!Submitted by jimmybritt on Fri, 07/27/2007 - 3:14pm.This Sunday is the beginning of a Revolution in Cabarrus County and the Charlotte Metro area. I can hardly wait! God is moving...!Submitted by jimmybritt on Thu, 07/26/2007 - 10:08pm.I have been saying it for a few years and I’ll say it again now, this is the most exciting time in the history of the church…to be the church! I am so pumped about what God is doing at Rocky River Community Church and in churches similar to ours all over the country. For a taste of what I’m talking about check out some of these guys and you'll see what I mean. Listen to what they're saying about their churches and the ministry they're going and how God is changing lives. Folks, God is doing something BIG! http://www.garylamb.org/ This Week @ Rocky River...!Submitted by jimmybritt on Wed, 07/25/2007 - 3:45pm.Hey gang! Do whatever it takes to be at Rocky River Community Church this Sunday! At the 9:30 and 11:00 services I am going to teach a message called "Revolution." I had planned to break away from our Simple series for the week but God has worked it out where that won't be necessary (you'll understand on Sunday). I'm going to talk about the revolutionary Church that God is building: the global church and our church. I will also give an update on our Imagine (Land & Building) Campaign and about some "NEXT STEPS" we are going to be taking at the church. THESE ARE BIG STEPS AND MAJOR changes that will affect us all. Did I say BIG changes? YES! BIG CHANGES! And for those of you who have been around for a while, I've been telling you that God is doing something at R2C2 and that time has come...! It is here! Buckle up! Things are really exciting. I can't wait to tell you all about it. See you Sunday! New FlopsSubmitted by jimmybritt on Wed, 06/13/2007 - 8:27pm.I had to buy a new pair of flops this evening because mine broke (they were Sanuks) - I was climbing up a dang hill and the left one just popped. Anyway, I bought a new pair here at the resort. The new ones are Cobians. I've never heard of that brand (I'm sure Brandon and Travis have because they are up with all the hip clothes - pretty much) so I checked them out online. I fell in love with their website. Cobian sells a particular model of flop that when purchased, they send $2 of that purchase to World Vision to fight hunger in Africa. This is really cool. I'm going to buy a pair of those too! Take a look for yourself at http://www.cobianusa.com/. |
