LearningsThoughts & Learnings From This WeekSubmitted by jimmybritt on Sat, 10/01/2011 - 7:19am.-There is no such thing as applause without responsibility. -Stop living your life by someone else’s to-do list. Make your own vision a reality. -If all are leaders, who will follow? Of course, we need leaders. But boy do ever need some people now who will follow and who are loyal (and committed). Everyone wants to lead, but fewer and fewer want to be led. -You can’t lead who you don’t love. Pastors, love your people. And the best way to love them is to spend time in your prayer closet praying for them and studying the Word so that God can give you a fresh Word for them. I've been learning lately that people don't need another "buddy." They need a pastor who loves them enough to study and seek the face of God so he can lead them and help them grow. Spending time studying is time spent with them. -Pastor: Are you the same guy offstage that you are onstage? I heard a pastor say once that his wife told him one Sunday that more and more she wanted the guy onstage, than the one offstage. -I am a pastor but I’m other things too. I am a husband, father, son, brother, nephew, friend, businessman (at times), a leader and a follower among other things. -Little egos do little things. Let God’s Spirit in you make you a force to be reckoned with. -Low expectations is bigotry. -Don’t live out of memory, rather our of imagination. People who live in the past have already started dying… -Long term success is made one day at a time. There is much power in a compounding life. I hope these thoughts and learnings help you as you grow. God bless...! Jimmy |
